BlogginGSeesaw - A really easy to use system that works across platforms. Parents can be invited to see only their child's work or they can view the class blog. parents can view via a phone or tablet app or on the web. There is a free version that works well but students can't be transferred between classes. You and parents can download their child's blog at the end of the year. Paid version allows transfer of students and rollovers of blogs. Parents love this .
Blogger - Blogs give students and authentic audience and reason for writing. Start with a class blog then move to individual student blogs. Individual blogs should be created under a class account for students under 13. Invite the student as editor to their blog. Setting up your blog. Share your blog with other classes and schools. Students can read other blogs and write comments during literacy time. This works with the Daily 5 as Read to Self and Work on Writing. More info on blogging here. |
e-PortfoliosBlogs can be used as e-portfolios but there are lots of other options. This site explores the options, many of which can be used on a chromebook. It also explores the purposes of eporfolios and choosing the right platform for the purpose.
